Sustainability control is all the devices and systems that managers develop and use in order to formally and informally ensure that the behaviors and decisions are consistent with the organization’s sustainability objectives and strategies (Crutzen et al. 2017).
I have studied sustainability control in three contexts:
- Sustainability control within the financial sector, particularly Environmental Social Governance practices at asset managers.
- Trade union interactions with sustainability control within Swedish multinationals.
- Sustainability control of hydropower projects.
