The circular economy is a model ‘where the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and the generation of waste minimised’ (European Commission, 2018). The aim of circular economy is to reduce the use of resources while maintaining productivity in society.
Research wise, I have been involved in two projects:
- A Vinnova project on circular practices,
- A Formas project on individual participation in circular systems, studying the Swedish deposit-refund system for cans and PET bottles.
Hear Anna Kremel and me discuss the latter project about the Swedish deposit-refund system on Swedish radio P4 Örebro , listen at 2.45: https://sverigesradio.se/avsnitt/1442432.
You can also read about our research project on recycling behavior and the social aspects of circular economy in Recyclingnet.
We have a few academic articles currently in review based on the above projects. Please get in contact if you want to know more about our research results.
